10:00 pm - Persona 4, how I love thee
Just started playing. Am in love with this game. Am a big fan of the Souji(MC)/Yousuke and Kanji/Teddie pairings. (The latter is the result of fandom and the fact I think they'd be cute together. I haven't actually gotten that far in the game yet) I also think that Chie and Yukiko should end up together.

So...
I'm okay but...
I just got rear ended earlier tonight. At a stop sign. And, residential zone or no, if the girl who hit me was only going 25 mph I'll eat my shirt. Our cars were totaled. We both had to go to the hospital to check out our necks. And I have been told I will be in quite a bit of pain tomorrow. So I have to miss work. At least her insurance should compensate me for that.
To top things off, I've got a bronchial infection. Luckily, the doctor at the hospital was nice enough to check me and give me some antibiotics so I don't have to go to the doctor on Wednesday like planned.

11:22 am - I hate Murphy's Law
I have midterm's this week. Therefore, I am sick, coughing near constantly. And the meds I take daily don't mix w/nightquil so I can't take it w/out risking sleeping 24 hours (especially with the sleeping pills I take). Isn't this always how it works? At least I don't feel bad other than the coughing and sore throat. Though I didn't go to class today b/c I figured I should conserve my strength for the midterm tomorrow. Which meant more sleep and not going out in rainy weather unless I absolutely had to.
Murphy really knew what he was talking about.
And yes, he was a real person. A physicist or something like that who coined the phrase after an expiriment gone wrong.
I'll post a non-complaining entry soon. Just wanted to vent frustration over the way the universe works.

Despite you, half our classmates, and one of our teachers being sick, I never noticed anyone coughing the way I am. The cough got into my chest far too fast for comfort as well. Normally I'd go see a doctor about it, but I'm not sure I want to go to walk to the health center in this weather. After all, if it's just a virus, that could make it worse. I'm thinking of calling the advice nurse for an opinion.

It's been too long since I've written anything here. Yaoicon was real cool, and the main purpose of this entry is in hopes of people I know from the con will say hi.
So, I did pretty good in the swap meet so I'm not completely broke... which means I'm now spending money when I shouldn't what with Christmas coming up >_<. On the plus side, I have some good stuff to read now. The new Ycon anthology is really good. I love the Rat Prince, Nekojita has converted me to the Rufus/Reno fandom, and I loved seeing a Wild Rock story. June's J-Boy anthology is good, I hope they put out another volume soon. I also really like the Princess Princess manga so far. And when I bought P. L. Nunn's Dynasty of Ghost's online, I discovered another yaoi fiction author, Ann Somerville. Anyone who's interested can find her stuff at Lulu.com. I've just started reading the first of the Darshian tales, but it seems pretty good so far.
I also got new badges from scuttlebutt inc. I picked up two commissions at the con: one from kyou kara maoh, the other Atobe and Jiroh from Prince of tennis. I also bought another Kingdom hearts badge and two final fantasy seven badges.

I really need to write in this LJ more.
Well a lots happened since my last entry, which isn't surprising given how long ago it was. Here are the highlights:
I did relatively well in my classes last semester. One of my classes took so much time that my grade in another suffered a bit, but such is life. Surprisingly, I actually did pretty well in that hard class. I got C's and B's on all my assignments. I was pretty certain I was going to get a C or C+. Then before the final, I went to discuss my midterm with my teacher so I could see how I could improve on my final. I had gotten a C on the first midterm question and a C+ on the second. He said he wasn't going to look at it because it was so late in the semester but I could talk to him and he'd give me advice. Well between the comments and talking to him I understood what I did wrong on the first essay but not the second. The comments on the second weren't really clear so I wasn't certain how to ask him about it. Then during the conversation I mentioned how much time I spent on it(it was take-home). When he heard that I spent so much time but still got low grades he asked to look at it. Afterwards he said he was glad and that he hoped what had happened was just a fluke, because he did not agree with how low it had been graded. You see, the essays were graded by assistants he called readers. The first essay wasn't much different he changed it from a C to a B-. But the one that bothered him, was the second,the one I hadn't known where I went wrong. He changed it from a C+ to a B+ and said it would have been an A had I just polished it up a bit more. Afterwards, I figured I'd get a B or B- b/c I had mostly B's and B-'s and the class didn't have a participation grade. However I must have done really well on the final because I got a B+ to my surprise.
During the summer I got a job working at an elementary summer school. While the official title was tutor, I actually was more like a teachers assistant. I was assigned to one class and helped the teacher out by working individually with the kids, correcting assignments, helping the kids during various assignments, and running errands. I also helped out in the office, esecially during the first few days of summer school when they were really busy and i divided and delivered school supplies.
That job lasted only a month. A couple weeks later I had a short job entering data into the new database of one of my mom's clients (She's a freelance accountant/bookkeeper). The partners in charge decided to hire the daughters of two of the partners and myself because we were inexpensive and easily accessible labor.
Now my summer's almost over and I'm back at school. Classes start next week and while I'm looking forward to them, I'm not looking forward to all the work that is going to eat my life. I'm in a minisuite in a new dorm building this year. It's much better than my own dorm. Everything's new. The chairs are real computer chairs with a bunch of gadgets for adjusting everything from the seat height to the placement of the arm rests. The desk has a pull out keyboard and mouse thing. And the windows have screens which means we don't have to worry about bugs if we have them open.
My roomate is very nice and a lot of fun. One thing that makes me happy is she likes anime somewhat. She's not a huge fan like I am, but she hasn't had much access to it. So now I have someone to enjoy anime with me (which is good since my friend Chris wont be living here for a while). And she now has access to it. Our two suitemates are also very nice. I'm very glad that I had the good luck to end up sharing my suite with three very friendly sociable people. They're younger than I- I'm a senior who entered as a junior transfer last year and They're sophomores. But They're a lot of fun and very nice, so it doesn't matter. Especially since I found out last year that it's somewhat hard to meet friends your own age as a transfer. I made a couple, but my major is one which requires me to take all my classes here, which means I was taking mostly lower division classes last year. That also means I'll be here one more year. I don't really mind I have to be here three years, but it is gonna be expensive.
Well that's all for now. hopefully I won't go another four months without updating this time.

Well, I'm actually doing another entry. I may even get something of substance up here at some point since I now have a kyou kara maoh fic written. I just need to type it up and post it. I haven't decided if I'll continue the fic yet but... eh. I'm also working on a KKM pic which will hopefully get done someday.
Unfortunately I have ADD and I go to Berkeley. Which means what little attention span I do have tends to get devoted to homework.
I have learned how to make screencaps of the anime I play on windows media player. I am very happy. Now I just need to learn how to make and animate icons.
Thanks to a belated Christmas present from grandparents who sold an extra house, I suddenlly have the most money in my life, although I'm trying to not spend much.
Well I apparently will be going to Fanime, and a friend of mine has talked me into volunteering. Furthormore, said friend is completely Italian and came up w/the idea of going as Mario (which he could actually pull off really well) So at his suggestion I'm probably going to go as Princess Daisy (my hair's closer to hers than peach's). We've also been joking about dragging his roomate along at toad. However, given that school will be over and his roomate is from L.A. it's probably not likely.
Luckily, I live in San Jose, which makes me love the fact they moved the con to the SJ convention center, cause it's close enough I don't need a hotel.
Provided I can get a wig, I'll also be cosplaying as Jirou from POT, which makes me happy. I just bought a full Hyotei costume of Ebay for $50. Unfortunately s&h was $60 but given that the shirts alone cost $40, and the outfit includes shirt, jacket, pants, shorts, and wristband, I figure it's still a deal. Last Yaoicon and Fanime I went as Eiji but at Ycon there wer too many Eijis so I don't want to do that. Jirou is done less and I like him just as much. There was a Jirou last Fanime, but she was only dressed as Jirou for the photoshoot, so I figure I'm less likely to be sharing my costume.
I also wanted to buy a Kurapika costume but I didn't cause I want to save money. I'm hoping to get to Japan this summer so it's better not to spend a lot of money now.
so that's everything for now. Maybe someday I'll update this more than once a month.

04:35 pm - I'm actually writing something
I decided that since I'm joining groups I might actually write something on occasion, so here goes.
I survived my first semester at Berkeley, which is a lot tougher than my junior college was. I'm happy but I don't want to go back to school quite yet.
I got kingdom heart's chain of memories and star ocean for christmas, among other things which makes me very happy. I'm almost done playing memories as Sora and can't wait to play as Riku.
My current obsession is Kyou Kara Maoh. I adore Yuuri and Wolfram. I'm searching high and low for fics of those two.
Well that's it for my ground-breaking first entry. let's see if I ever do this again.
